While NB's business litigation attorneys have successfully handled hundreds of diverse business matters, the following is a summary of a few of those cases:

Confidential Shareholders v. Confidential Directors
NB was appointed panel counsel by National Union/AIG to defend one of the directors of an international telecommunications company. Prior to NB's appointment, National Union had made a settlement on behalf of all defendants for $100,000. The Plaintiffs rejected the offer and demanded the full policy limits of $1,000,000. Through the efforts of NB, the entire case was settled for less than $10,000.

Tiscor v. The Linc Corporation
In this matter, NB was retained to prosecute claims of misappropriation of trade secrets and breach of contract arising from a custom software development contract with The Linc Corporation, an Enron, subsidiary. The case was prosecuted in federal court, with Baker & McKenzie representing Linc. NB defeated Baker & McKenzie in a crucial summary judgment motion and, shortly thereafter, the case settled very favorably.

Navfam Software v. Grease Monkey International
NB represented a software company in a suit against a national "quick lube" franchisor for breach of a software development contract. The case went to binding arbitration and NB prevailed, achieving an award of $700,000.

Mora v. Amserv Healthcare, Inc., et al.
NB was retained to represent Star Multi Care Services, Inc., a publicly traded medical service provider, as well as two of its officers and directors, in a dispute with a former CEO of an acquired subsidiary. The dispute involved allegations of breach of the officers' duties of care and loyalty. This case was resolved by way of a favorable settlement.

Acker v. Sirkin, et al.
This case arose from the demise of Saturn Insurance Services. NB represented Saturn's corporate counsel who was being sued by a shareholder for breach of fiduciary duties and legal malpractice. The case went to jury trial and NB achieved a non-suit after the close of Plaintiff's case. Notably, NB defeated a well-known San Diego law professor.
